Areas of Interest

South Recreation Area and Quarter Island
A charming park, fully equipped for your enjoyment, is located with fresh water on one side and salt water on the other, just off Casseekey Island Road between Lantern Bay and Southporte.  There are cookout facilities, including shelters, tables, grills and restrooms, along with play equipment for youngsters.  Parking is provided and no reservations are required.

Adjacent to the park is Quarter Island, accessible by a wooden walkway.  The island is a rather wild, natural habitat for birds and butterflies.  The gazebos at the end of the island are a quiet and peaceful place for appreciating the beauty of Jonathan’s Landing.

Kayak racks located on the island and docking platform are available for small boat storage.

The fresh waterways are stocked with bass and you are welcome to fish.  Please remember it is “catch and release”.

Parking
In order to maintain security and safety, no on-street parking is allowed at any time, except for short periods (2-3 hours) when guests are being entertained.  No trailers, boats, recreational or other habitable vehicles, trucks or vans may be kept on property areas. A vehicle capable of being garaged may be parked in driveways on a temporary basis.  If you have a guest with an oversized vehicle, call security at (561) 747-1141.

Pets
Pets are allowed, although they may not be raised, bred or utilized for any commercial purpose.  All dogs must be leashed and under control when out of doors.  Owners are responsible for the immediate clean up of private and common areas.  Please check with your individual Homeowner’s Association for further information and/or size limitations.

A “dog park” recently opened at Jonathan’s Landing for our residents.  Large dogs (25 pounds or more) may enter between 7 a.m. and noon.   Smaller dogs (under 25 pounds) are welcome from noon to dusk.  Keys are available at the JL POA office.  Please remember to pick up after your dog.  Litter bags are provided from dispensers located inside the park.

Electric Carts
Operation of golf carts is included in the same Florida statutes that govern automobile use. Homeowners are responsible for ensuring that children under 16 years of age do not operate carts.  Carts are not to be used to joy ride, create a nuisance or disturb the peace.  To assure safety, golf carts must use the promenades, not the streets.  All golf carts should carry liability insurance.  No golf cart is permitted on the golf course or any part of club property without a membership, and proof of insurance decal.

Measured Trails
A variety of distances have been measured for residents who wish to walk, jog, or cycle.
These trails, from one-half to 5 miles long, are all on the promenade system and marked on the Jonathan’s Landing Street and Measured Walking Trail Map.  Click here for a printable copy of the map .  For safety, do not walk, jog, or cycle on any roadway.
